Must-know about yachting in Poland

At the moment Poland cannot compete with the main tourist countries of Europe (for example, with France), and is inferior to them in terms of living standards, so the cost of recreation in this country makes it quite affordable. There are over 900 companies in Poland that are engaged in the construction of yachts and sailboats.

You can rent a boat, a sailing or motor yacht, and a catamaran in the tourist centers of Mikolajki, Gizycko, Węgorzewo, Ryn, Pisz and Ilava. Pre-order makes the price of renting a yacht much cheaper.

Conditions for yachting have been created in the marinas in Szczecin, Trzebez, Leba, Gdynia, Gdańsk and Horki Zachodna. There are good marinas in Gdynia. There are four yacht clubs operating here. We also recommend visiting Gdańsk on the Motlawa River. There is a repair shop in Kolobrzeg's yacht harbor. It is located 50 miles east of Swinoujscie.

There are many water sports options in Poland:

  • The best kayaking routes are Warmia, Mazury, and Suwałki. They are laid along the rivers Krutynia, Czarna-Hancha, Drvenca, and Lake Rospuda. On the Kashubsko and Drava lakes, it is convenient to raft along the Brda, Vda, and Drava rivers. The routes take about 10-12 days. Kayaks and canoes can be rented at the rental offices. They are located along the routes.
  • Tourist offices offer trips for several days on small wooden residential barges along the Biebrza River.
  • Windsurfing is developed in Puck Bay in the Baltic. The season lasts almost 5 months a year. Windsurfing schools and equipment rental centers are located in Hel, Jastarnia, Jurata, and in the village of Chalupy. Competitions and championships of the international level are also held right there. The Vistula Lagoon is popular with windsurfers. The water sports center is located in Krynica Morska.
  • Puck Bay is popular for kite boarding. In Reva near Gdynia, kite boarding has been practiced since the 1980s. Kite surfing fans ride on the ice of the Puck Bay even in winter.
  • In the mountain rivers of Poland, you can catch trout and salmon. Lakes and rivers are home to pikes, walleyes, catfish, and eels. There is many fish in the lakes and rivers in the north of the country. Fishing is allowed in the reservoirs (Zegrzyńskie near Warsaw, Sulejovskiy, not far from Łódź, on the Solinski reservoir in Bieszczady). Winter fishing is popular in the Masurian Lakes. Each fisherman must obtain a special fishing card or permit. The documents are issued by the Polish Fishermen's Union. There are branches of the Union in any regional city.

Routes in Poland

Yachting capital of Poland is the city of Mikolajki, in which the shores of two large lakes converge — Talty and Mikołajskie.

The main destination for tourists is the “land of a thousand lakes” — Masurian lakes. They are connected by natural and artificial canals, which makes traveling along them endless. And on the banks you will see towns and picturesque villages, diverse nature and local architectural monuments.

Another large port of Gizycko is located in the northern part of Masurian lakes. There are many convenient marinas, the most famous of which is the national pride of Poland — eco marina.

On the shores of Lake Ryn, you can see the ancient castle of the Teutonic Order. And if you want to take a break from water, there is a wide range of entertainment on land, including horse riding, fishing, excursions and many others.

Full recommendation. Great service & support. We chartered a Beneteau 45 in Athens for our trip around Peloponnes. Great service and perfect customer support from beginning to the end. Due to corona we had to postpone our trip - Sailica managed all the communication with the charter agency and negotiated a great new deal for us. This was already the 2nd time we charted with Sailica and it won't be the last time. Full recommendation

I took Dufour Grand Large 560 at Croatia using online yacht rental service sailica.com It's easy to use their mobile app with fair prices and enough quantity of boats which suits to my parameters. Their managers assisted me through whole communication with charter company. It was pleasant to receive a small gift – free of charge transfer from airport to marina. We didn't request it and appreciate their overexpected level of service.

Amazing 1 week in Turkey! I sailed with Sailica on a tour in the gulf of Fethiye in Turkey. Overall it was a great experience and a great crew, even if I did not know them before. The area is amazingly beautiful and if you go in April you can avoid the crowds. The skipper was very proficient and knew what he was doing. Highly recommended!

Great company! The guys answered all our questions which were very important since it was our first sailing experience. Moreover, they advised us not only on a charter but also on the tour itself. This was not the responsibility of the company, but we needed help and the company managers helped us for free. I highly recommend the team. The guys are really reliable, proactive and customer-oriented.

Super Beratung - sehr schnell wurde für mich ein passendes Boot in der Türkei gefunden. Sehr guter Preis, und ich konnte einen Skipper aussuchen, den ich bereits vom letzten Mal kannte. Volle Empfehlung!
