It is connected to the mainland by a stone bridge. The city extends to the northern coast of Ciovo.
Regattas are held all year round. To take part in the most popular ones (Velika Trogirska Regata, Beneteau Rally Croatia, Carpe Diem Regatta), a yachtsman needs to book a yacht in Trogir and to register for at least six months beforehand.

The nearest international airport is Split. It is closer to Trogir (only 7 km away) than to Split itself (25 km away).
In the city of Trogir dominates a moderately warm Mediterranean climate. During the year, a small amount of precipitation is observed, which is much higher in winter than in summer. Trogir is one of the sunniest coastlines in Europe. From July to the end of August, the air temperature is around 30 °C. In May and October, temperatures drop to 20 °C.
