Samui's climate is divided into three types: dry, hot, and rainy. The island is located between the Northern Tropic (Tropic of Cancer) and the equator. The climate here is warm and humid all year round. The humidity level is between 70 and 85 percent. The average temperature is around + 29 °C.
The most optimal weather conditions for sailing or relaxing on the beach from November to March. During this period, a stable northeast monsoon blows at a speed of 10 to 22 knots. In the high season, a light wind blows on Koh Samui from December to February, the sea is calm, intermittent rains, and the air temperature does not bring discomfort.
The hottest time of the year is from March to May. This period is suitable for those who can easily endure the heat. The air temperature is + 33 °C. During this period, the number of precipitation increases. Thunderstorms start in July and August.
