Sailing trip in Porto Colom

The village of Porto Colom is located around one of the largest and most protected bays on the island. Here you can look at small houses, lighthouses, and boats. This all complements the picturesque nature. Pleasure boats and local fishing boats sail along the waterfront. From here you can start your yachting journey.

 

The main beach in Porto Colom is Cala Marsal. It is marked with a blue flag. Located in sandy shallow water. This place is suitable for families. Nearby are the beaches of Arenal Grand and Arenal Petit.

 

Porto Colom was named after Christopher Columbus. Presumably, he was born here. At first, the city was a working fishing port. Now it is a resort area. 

 

If you like ancient archeology, we recommend visiting a prehistoric libel or burial site dating from about 2000 BC. 

 

For some of the most spectacular views, head to Santuari de San Salvador, near Felanitx. Puig San Salvador is the highest mountain in the area. There is a large stone cross and a huge statue of Christ. The sanctuary used to be home to monks.

 

There are many caves in this part of Mallorca. Everyone will love the Ham and Drak rides. They can be reached on foot and by sailing yacht. The coastal caves are ideal for diving and snorkeling. 

 

Porto Colom hosts sports and cultural events. You can attend a triathlon in April, food and rock festivals at the end of June.
