The motorboat charter season in the Caribbean lasts from December to April. Then the rainy season starts lasting from May to November. At this time, the Caribbean Islands are at risk of hurricanes — especially from August till October. The best practice to avoid them is to follow the weather forecast.

All 13 independent Caribbean islands do not require a visa to rent a motorboat. Also, you don’t need it in Turks and Caicos, the British territory. A US visa is required in the United States territories. The autonomy of the Netherlands needs a Schengen visa. You can visit French domains with a Schengen visa appointed by the French Embassy. British lands: a visa to Montserrat can be applied on the Internet, Anguilla and the Cayman Islands accept the usual British visa, and the BVI require the special visa appointed by the British embassy. If you rent a bareboat charter in the Caribbean, apply for a visa for the country where you start and finish your journey. In most countries, it can be appointed at the harbour or marina on arrival.
